Great trip to Iceland. What a wonderful destination. Three great choices of ports. Akureyri, Isafjordor, and Reykjavik.
The Jewels of the North tour with a visit to Godafoss, the craters and bubbling mud pools and geysers was fantastic, I thought we were on the moon. What colours of landscape and snow too.
The unspoiled NW of Iceland with snow and high mountains was stark and so delightful. The people made us so welcome. During our day at the capital we took the Golden Circle Tour. This was wonderful. The park where the plates of America and Europe meet was nature at its most beautiful. The Gullfoss waterfall was just amazing. Geysers too. What else to make a grand day out.
Our first stop on this cruise was Lerwick. We were in some mist but it added to the delight of the scenery here. Jarlshof was so very interesting. Seeing seals basking on the beach was a delight here.
We entered very rough weather after leaving Iceland and we were unable to be tendered off at Torshavn for safety reasons. However Discovery put on extra lectures and a piano recital also other events in the lounge and we were quite happy on board. It was a break in the rock and roll of the seas from the day before being here at Anchor.
We did miss a port due to an engine repair and we were well compensated for this. It was dissappointing but thats how it goes on ships at sea. We shall return to this lovely worn but so friendly ship that has wonderful food and service soon.

Onboard Activities4
Quite enough choice with us not being able to do all as there was too much. An art class. Bridge as well. A wonderful library aboard. Crossword daily here, suduku daily and a quiz. All to take away to do if you had time. Board games in a cupboard to help yourself to. A Jigsaw in the photo lounge was were popular too.
Cabins5
Quite comfortable (soft top to mattress was put on for my back problem)and lots of cupboard space. Although for economy we had an inside cabin. No complaints. Steward was great.
